BIS, one of the Nation's premier interpreting service providers, also offers Video Relay Services (VRS) to consumers, businesses and governmental agencies.VRS is a free, 24-hour service enabling anyone who uses sign language to communicate through live, interactive phone conversations with family, friends, or businesses.
Calls are placed and received via high-speed Internet connections, VRS equipment (a web cam or videophone) and a professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter.
Calls may be initiated and received by either deaf/hard of hearing persons or hearing persons.
